Factory Receiving Specialist – Modular Construction Bill Lake Modular Homes is seeking a Factory Receiving Specialist to join our expert modular construction team in Sprakers, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, organizing, and distributing incoming materials and components used in the construction of modular homes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that materials arrive accurately, are properly accounted for, and are available to production when needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Factory Receiving Specialist works closely with Purchasing, Inventory, Production, Quality Control, and Shipping to maintain accurate material flow throughout the factory. This role can be physically demanding and fast-paced, often requiring operating forklifts and maintaining strict safety standards. Receiving & Inspection Receive incoming materials, components, fixtures, appliances, and other products delivered to the manufacturing facility. Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation. Inspect materials for quantity, damage, defects, and obvious quality issues upon receipt. Identify and report shortages, overages, damaged materials, incorrect products, or other discrepancies. Photograph and document damaged or questionable materials when appropriate. Coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to resolve receiving discrepancies. Ensure materials requiring special handling are properly received and stored. Help maintain appropriate stock levels of frequently used production materials. Production Support Ensure received materials are moved efficiently from receiving areas to appropriate storage locations or production areas. Pull and stage materials for production as directed. Work with Inventory and Purchasing Manager to prioritize issues or urgent material needs. Help identify potential material shortages that could impact production schedules. Maintain organized receiving and staging areas to support efficient factory operations. Assist with material transfers between storage areas and production departments. Safety & Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and storage area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Properly operate material-handling equipment when authorized and trained. Safely handle materials of varying sizes and weights. Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or other workplace hazards to management. Follow proper procedures for storing hazardous, fragile, or temperature-sensitive materials when applicable. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate receiving records and paperwork. Match packing slips, purchase orders, and received quantities. Assist with vendor and freight-related issues as needed. Maintain documentation related to damaged, rejected, returned, or short-shipped materials. Provide timely updates regarding incoming materials that may affect production. Additional Responsibilities Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed.
