This position location is TBD. The Facility Project Planner 3 is responsible for independently managing, coordinating, and overseeing complex facility planning, construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects for the Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM). This role will ensure that projects are delivered in compliance with building codes, procurement regulations, safety standards, and agency objectives. Duties may involve significant collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal leadership. Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design; OR A bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design plus two years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design; OR A current Louisiana license in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design plus two years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As a Facility Project Planner 3, you will perform tasks that are critical to the mission of the Office of State Fire Marshal. Some of the duties include: - Evaluating plans and specifications for complex new building construction projects, renovation projects, and building system installations statewide for alignment with state laws and rules. - Consulting with building owners, designers, contractors, and others involved with construction on alternative options that are in line with state law. - Preparing documents and evaluation reports for dissemination to building owners, designers, contractors, and building officials. - Authorizing permits of construction by parish and municipal offic…
