Position Summary

The Facility Operations Technician is responsible for supporting all aspects of event setup, changeover, teardown, and facility readiness. This role plays a critical part in ensuring events are executed efficiently, safely, and according to established layout specifications and timelines. Primary responsibilities include setting up and dismantling stages, seating configurations, tables, equipment, and back-of-house (BOH) spaces. Operations Technicians complete event-to-event conversions, often under tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. Duties also involve general labor tasks such as moving equipment, loading and unloading materials, and assisting with special event requirements as directed. In addition to event-related functions, the role supports ongoing building maintenance and upkeep to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and operational at all times. Team members are expected to follow safety procedures, communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, and demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00-$14.00.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks as assigned to support event operations and facility needs.
  • Set up and break down chairs, tables, event seating, stages, and related equipment.
  • Execute facility-wide table and chair setups according to client specifications and event diagrams.
  • Complete event chair installations, including seat placement and row numbering.
  • Assist with stage setup and teardown for special events.
  • Perform day-of-event assignments including pipe and drape installation, bike rack placement, stage barricade setup, stage skirting, stage railing installation/removal, and other event-related tasks as directed.
  • Set up and dismantle furniture throughout the area per client requests.
  • Conduct routine facility maintenance.
  • Follow all established changeover policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient event conversions.
  • Proactively assist in organizing and maintaining building warehouses, storage areas, and offices.
  • Maintain proper storage, organization, and inventory control of changeover tools and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or related trade school training.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with guests, vendors, staff, and other facility users.
  • Familiarity of OSHA requirements.
  • Be a self-starter and have ability to take directions.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Technical license preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to frequently and safely climb and navigate stairs, work on roofs and catwalks over 50ft high.
  • This position requires work inside and/or outside of the building, as needed by events and is subjected to changing climate and adverse weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of tools, such as sharp wheel cutters, reamers, drills, grinders, and equipment such as service carts, scissor lifts & boom lifts, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Capable of operating forklifts, sweepers, or other operational equipment. 
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
