Fabrication Product Manager
Mexico Heating CompanyJob Summary We are seeking a highly competent Fabrication Product Specialist to oversee the office operations, technical support, and project coordination for our newly licensed specialty duct fabrication division. Serving projects across Missouri, Kansas, and southern Illinois, you will not just be managing paperwork—you will be the central hub linking engineering designs, our fabrication shop, and external mechanical contracting clients. This role requires a unique blend of technical HVAC knowledge, estimating accuracy, and sharp project management to ensure order precision and maximize shop efficiency. This is a full-time, in-office position. Responsibilities Takeoff & Estimating: Review contract documents, plan specifications, and 3D models to produce accurate material takeoffs and quotes for the specialty duct system. Shop & Client Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external contractors and our internal shop foreman. Translate approved submittals into actionable shop fabrication tickets. Technical Submittals : Prepare, submit, and track technical submittal packages. Order & Inventory Tracking: Utilize Excel and specialized fabrication software to track order statuses, manage material lead times, and coordinate freight logistics across our multi-state territory. Quality Assurance & Standards: Ensure all processed orders comply with project specifications, manufacturing license requirements, and industry standards. Territory Support: Assist in managing project timelines, tracking production schedules, and providing technical product support to clients and field teams across Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. This role requires limited travel to projects for field inspection. Project Management (Optional): For qualified candidates, opportunities exist to manage project timelines, material procurement, and client communication. Required Skills & Qualifications Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years in mechanical contracting, HVAC fabrication, construction management, or engineering. BIM/CAD Familiarity: Basic experience with Autodesk CAD, Autodesk Revit or Navisworks to view, cross-reference, or verify 3D duct layouts. Estimation Software: Experience with specialized duct estimating or sheet metal fabrication software (e.g., QuoteSoft, Trimble Fabrication). System Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial/industrial HVAC systems, duct construction standards (SMACNA), and general construction sequencing. Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical plans, architectural blueprints, and specifications. Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, formulas) and Outlook for professional communication. Experience with Bluebeam Revu for markups and takeoffs is required. Detail-Oriented Independence: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project timelines and submittals simultaneously with minimal supervision. Preferred (But Not Required) Mechanical contracting / construction background.
