Extended Coverage Dispatcher

Extended Coverage Dispatcher Find Your Future with National Carriers! National Carriers, a National Beef Company located in Irving, Texas, is looking for a dependable and experienced professional to join our team as an Extended Coverage Dispatcher . This position plays an important role in supporting our professional drivers, monitoring freight, communicating with customers, and helping keep operations moving during extended coverage hours. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Track and trace loads for specific customers as directed Communicate with customers regarding delays, transit updates, or changes Document overage, shortage, damage claims, and accidents and notify the appropriate departments Monitor weather conditions that may impact routes or driver destinations and communicate necessary delays or route changes Maintain phone and system communication with drivers Assist drivers with breakdown calls and help coordinate the appropriate support Respond to urgent driver situations and coordinate assistance when necessary Serve as a support resource for drivers during extended coverage hours Document important events and provide accurate updates to the incoming shift Maintain accurate information within dispatch and recordkeeping systems Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualified candidates should possess: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required Associate degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred Three (3) years of related transportation, freight, dispatch, or logistics experience preferred Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with professional drivers and customers Basic understanding of geography, routing, and mapping systems Ability to quickly learn dispatch and transportation management systems Strong computer and data entry skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude Ability to remain organized and effective in a fast-paced environment Ability to handle urgent situations and changing priorities General understanding of the trucking and transportation industry This is an on-site position in Irving, Texas.
