Experienced Truck Dispatcher – Power Only

Alpha One Elite Inc. is looking for an experienced truck dispatcher with hands-on experience dispatching power-only trucks in the U.S. freight market. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can independently find, evaluate, negotiate and book freight while considering the entire trip — not simply the rate on an individual load. Responsibilities Search load boards and source power-only freight Evaluate loads based on rate, total miles, deadhead, destination and driver availability Negotiate rates directly with brokers Book loads and obtain rate confirmations Plan loads based on driver Hours of Service Minimize unnecessary deadhead Consider the destination freight market before booking a load Plan ahead for the truck's next load and positioning Communicate load information and changes clearly with the driver Track loads from pickup through delivery Communicate professionally with brokers Handle issues that arise during transit Negotiate detention, layover and TONU when applicable Maintain accurate load and rate documentation Required Experience & Knowledge Previous U.S. truck dispatching experience Experience dispatching power-only freight Experience using DAT and/or other major load boards Strong understanding of spot-market freight Rate negotiation Rate per mile and deadhead calculations Hours of Service Broker/carrier communication Detention, layover and TONU Freight-market awareness and truck positioning We are looking for a dispatcher who can be given an available truck, its location and the driver's available hours and determine what freight makes financial sense to book and where that load leaves the truck for the next opportunity.
