Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Thrift Store Manager to lead our retail operation with enthusiasm and strategic vision. Duties Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service initiatives Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff to ensure a high-performing retail team with strong product knowledge and excellent customer engagement skills Manage payroll, scheduling, and employee orientation to maintain efficient staffing levels aligned with store needs Oversee purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize profitability and inventory turnover Implement POS (Point of Sale) systems for smooth transactions and cash handling procedures while maintaining accuracy in cash register operations Conduct regular inventory management activities including stock counting, stock rotation, and loss prevention measures Monitor sales performance metrics and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining operational standards Ensure compliance with safety regulations, store policies, and merchandising standards; handle customer complaints professionally Utilize marketing techniques to promote store events or sales campaigns that increase foot traffic and community engagement Maintain organized records of bookkeeping activities such as sales reports, expense tracking, and budgeting Skills Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on thrift or secondhand stores Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team through effective training & development practices Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable for diverse customer interactions Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping tools Skilled in negotiation, purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques Experience in supervising employees through interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations Demonstrated ability in operational management including shift management, cash handling, merchandising, and stock control Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and store presentation Knowledge of retail math for sales analysis and budgeting purposes; basic math skills essential for daily operations Exceptional customer service skills coupled with phone etiquette for engaging shoppers effectively Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure Experience in marketing initiatives that boost store visibility within the community or target demographic Join us as a Thrift Store Manager where your leadership fuels community connections while driving retail excellence!
