Experienced Moving Crew Leader / Driver – $22–$25/hr + Tips

Electric City Movers is hiring an experienced Moving Crew Supervisor/Driver . This is not a general mover position and we are not looking for someone who simply needs hours. We need someone who can be trusted to drive a 26-foot moving truck, lead a crew, communicate with the customer, and properly load a truck without being constantly supervised. If you have real moving experience and know how to run a professional moving job from start to finish, we want to talk to you. What We Need You should already be comfortable with the core responsibilities of running a moving crew, including: Driving a 26-foot box truck safely and confidently Backing, parking, and maneuvering a moving truck in residential areas Leading and directing a moving crew throughout the job Knowing how to properly load and pack a moving truck Building a load that is tight, balanced, protected, and safe for transport Properly using moving pads, shrink wrap, straps, dollies, and other equipment Protecting furniture, floors, walls, doors, railings, and customer property Identifying what needs extra protection before damage occurs Disassembling and reassembling common household furniture Keeping the crew productive and organized without sacrificing quality Communicating professionally with customers throughout the move Solving problems in the field without needing someone to hold your hand Training less-experienced movers and correcting poor moving practices This Position Requires Attention to Detail A good crew supervisor doesn't just move fast. You notice when a dresser needs another pad. You notice when a doorway needs protection. You know when something shouldn't be stacked on top of something else. You know how to build a truck so the load doesn't shift. You notice when a crew member is cutting corners and correct it before it becomes a damaged item or unhappy customer. That level of attention is what we're looking for. You Must Be Able to Lead This is a working leadership position. You will be expected to: Set the pace for the crew Give clear instructions Hold crew members accountable Make decisions throughout the job Keep the job moving efficiently Maintain a professional attitude when the day gets difficult Work alongside your crew rather than simply standing back and watching Take ownership of the job from arrival through completion We need someone the crew can look to when the move becomes difficult. Requirements Professional moving experience strongly preferred Previous crew leader, lead mover, or supervisor experience strongly preferred Must be comfortable driving a 26-foot box truck Valid driver's license Clean and acceptable driving record Strong understanding of proper moving-truck loading techniques Ability to safely lift and carry 75+ pounds Reliable transportation Professional communication skills Dependable attendance Saturday availability Ability to work flexible daytime hours based on the moving schedule What We're NOT Looking For This probably isn't the right position if you: Need someone constantly telling you what to do Have never packed or loaded a moving truck Are uncomfortable driving a box truck Cut corners to finish jobs faster Ignore small details until they become damage claims Struggle to give direction to other employees Blame the crew when something goes wrong Show up late or call out regularly We can train someone on our systems and our standards.
