Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hot Shot Driver specializing in 40-foot gooseneck trailers to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to operate across Over-the-Road (OTR) routes and within Texas, delivering freight efficiently and safely. As an essential part of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for transporting freight securely, adhering to all safety regulations, and ensuring timely deliveries. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a passion for professional driving, this position is perfect for you! Compensation: 20% of gross truck revenue to start. Percentage can improve based off safety, reliability, equipment care, paperwork, availability and performance. Typical target truck revenue is $5,000–$8,000+ per week, resulting in approximately $1,000–$1,600+ weekly driver compensation depending on completed loads and freight volume. Company provides truck, 40-ft gooseneck trailer, fuel, insurance and normal operating expenses. Responsibilities Safely operate 40-foot gooseneck trailers on OTR routes and within Texas, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight with precision, handling various cargo types including freight requiring refrigeration, hazardous materials, or specialized equipment like flatbeds or tankers. Navigate using GPS systems to plan optimal routes, avoiding delays and ensuring timely deliveries across assigned territories. Transport automobiles and other sensitive cargo via specialized equipment, maintaining safety protocols during loading and unloading processes. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before operating the vehicle. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, delivery records, and compliance with all applicable regulations related to hazardous goods and dangerous materials. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or unforeseen issues during transit. Qualifications Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on tractor-trailer operations, including route driving and freight delivery. Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, DOT rules, and safe manual handling techniques. Proficiency in GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR driving within Texas and nationwide. Experience in truck loading/unloading procedures involving freight handling equipment such as forklifts or manual methods. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling for various types of freight including dangerous goods or specialty loads like flatbeds or tankers.
