Experienced Forklift Operator - Freezer Warehouse Toft Dairy: 3717 Venice Road, Sandusky, OH 44870 Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Position Overview Toft Dairy is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our freezer warehouse team. This position is heavily focused on operating advanced material-handling equipment in a fast-paced cold-storage environment.This is not an entry-level forklift position. Our warehouse utilizes modern, highly specialized forklift equipment that requires strong operating skills, excellent safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in tight warehouse and freezer storage areas. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of safe and productive forklift operation in warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or cold-storage environments. Primary Responsibilities Forklift Operations Safely operate advanced forklift and tow motor equipment throughout warehouse and freezer storage areas Move finished product from production lines into designated freezer storage locations Load, unload, stack, relocate, and retrieve palletized products accurately and efficiently Place and remove product from storage locations while maintaining inventory accuracy Navigate warehouse aisles and storage areas safely while maintaining productivity standards Perform daily forklift inspections and report any equipment concerns Maintain proper product rotation and storage organization Follow all OSHA, company, and food safety regulations regarding forklift operation Prevent product damage through safe handling and proper equipment operation WarehouseOrder Fulfillment Accurately pick customer orders for shipment Verify quantities and product selections before loading Support inventory organization and warehouse housekeeping Monitor production output and transfer finished goods to storage Maintain cleanliness and organization of freezer and warehouse areas Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of forklift or tow motor operating experience preferred Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or cold-storage environment Demonstrated ability to safely operate forklifts in a fast-paced workplace Forklift certification or the ability to become certified Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety High School Diploma or GED Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good mathematical and inventory-handling skills Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy under pressure Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Preferred Qualifications Experience operating high-reach, stand-up, or specialty forklift equipment Cold-storage or freezer warehouse experience Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse scanning technology Food manufacturing or food distribution experience PhysicalWork Environment Requirements Ability to work in freezer temperatures as low as -30°F for periods of 30-45 minutes at a time Frequently stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and twist throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance Ability to push and pull loaded pallets and warehouse materials safely Comfortable working in warehouse, freezer, production, and occasional outdoor environments Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment EquipmentApparel Provided by Toft Dairy: Insulated coveralls Thermal freezer gloves Employee Provided: Thermal socks Additional cold-weather gloves Winter coat/jacket Warm hat or cold-weather head covering CompensationBenefits Competitive full-time pay based on experience Consistent Monday-Friday schedule Medical insurance with prescription coverage Dental, vision, and life insurance options Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time 401(k) with company match About Toft Dairy For over 126 years, Toft Dairy has been committed to producing quality dairy products while serving customers throughout the …
