g repairs on an as-needed basis. It is essential for the Forklift Service Technicians to possess good knowledge of parts and the ability to determine if a part needs to be replaced or repaired. In addition, the Forklift Service Technicians must be able to write clear job recommendations and descriptions as well as ensure all paperwork is completed and given to the department Supervisor in a timely manner.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to communicate with customers both in-house and in the fieldAbility to determine whether work should be done in-field or in-houseRepair gasoline, LPG, electric or diesel-powered forklifts.Make repairs as needed including replacing worn or broken parts, adjusting brakes, tightening body bolts, aligning wheels, etc...Lubricate vehicle and perform other duties in connection with maintenance and operation of lift truck, as required.Perform manual labor, as needed, such as heavy lifting and operating power equipment.Inform Supervisor of maintenance problems as they arise.Complete paperwork, as needed, to open and/or close work orders.Attend technical classes/training when offered by Management.Practice safe work habits.Keep van clean.
Report any vehicle problems to your supervisor.Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.Required Skills and Abilities:High school graduateMinimum 3 years of Forklift Mechanic / Material Handling Service Technician experienceValid driver's license and excellent driving recordWill be expected to drive (company van/gas provided) to TMHS customer sites. Sites vary over the general Los Angeles areaAbility to read and follow GPS directionsOwn your own tools and tool boxMust be able to write and spell English clearly and correctlyCustomer service attitude and aptitudeGood attendance and punctuality a mustMust be reliable, report to work on time, follow directions and get along well with coworkers and management personnelExpected to attend technical classes when offered by managementAppearance must be neat and professionalEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (GED), required.Three (3) + years of Forklift mechanic / Material handling equipment service experience, required.Previous equipment, material handling, or automotive experience, preferred.Physical Requirements:Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.Must be able to physically operate power machinery, use hand tools, use air compressor tools, band saw and department grinder, steam cleaner, and parts washer machines,Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds unaidedMust be able to physically listen, speak and interact with other Company associates, vendors, and customers regarding Service department needs.Must be physically able to operate / drive a company van or HinoMust be physically and mentally able to read, write and follow directionsThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team.
