Experienced Flooring Shipper/Warehouse Supervisor

Job Summary EXPERIENCED FLOORING SHIPPER / WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR Atlanta Flooring Centre is looking for an experienced flooring warehouse professional who knows the job and can take charge. This is not an entry-level warehouse position . We are looking for someone with solid warehouse experience, strong knowledge of flooring products, and the ability to supervise and train new employees. You must be comfortable working in a busy warehouse, handling heavy flooring materials, cutting carpet, operating a forklift, and helping direct workers both in the warehouse and on construction sites. If you have worked in a flooring warehouse and understand receiving, shipping, inventory, material handling, staging, loading, and warehouse organization, we want to hear from you. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Running day-to-day shipping and receiving activities Organizing and maintaining an efficient flooring warehouse Supervising and training new warehouse employees Making sure orders are picked, staged, and loaded correctly Receiving and checking incoming flooring shipments Operating a forklift Loading and unloading trucks Cutting and preparing carpet Using power and hand tools Handling laminate, vinyl plank, hardwood, carpet, carpet tile, tile, underlayments, and related products Maintaining proper inventory organization and material identification Identifying damaged, missing, or incorrect materials Coordinating materials for installers and construction projects Assisting with material handling and worker supervision at construction sites when required Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse Making sure work gets done properly and on time YOU MUST HAVE Previous flooring industry experience Strong warehouse and shipping/receiving experience Forklift experience Experience cutting carpet A clean driver's licence Experience supervising or training employees Thorough knowledge of warehouse organization and operations The physical ability to regularly lift and move heavy flooring materials Good communication and organizational skills The ability to work independently and take responsibility A strong work ethic and dependable attendance WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO Knows how a warehouse should be run. You should be able to walk into a busy flooring warehouse, understand what needs to be done, organize the work, direct less-experienced employees, and keep materials moving accurately and efficiently. You must be willing to work hands-on. This is not a desk supervisor position. You will be expected to operate equipment, move material, cut carpet, load trucks, solve problems, train employees, and keep the warehouse organized. Flooring experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with no relevant warehouse or material-handling experience may not be considered.
