Experienced Dispatcher

Overview As an Experienced Dispatcher, you’ll coordinate road transportation operations from dispatch through delivery. You’ll use transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to track vehicles, manage freight, and keep customers and internal teams informed. Your impact: Accurate, timely dispatching helps drivers stay coordinated and customers receive clear updates on their shipments. Duties Assign and monitor loads, routes, and schedules using GPS (Global Positioning System) tools and, when available, GIS (geographic information system) mapping. Manage phone calls on multi-line phone systems, respond to customer inquiries, and provide professional phone communication and customer service. Enter and verify shipment, driver, and vehicle details; maintain records and support shipping and receiving. Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve delays and support transportation planning, logistics, and supply chain needs. Review dispatch information, identify issues, and follow applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and operating procedures. Qualifications Experience in dispatching, transportation management, freight, or road transportation operations. Strong communication, organizational, analysis, typing, and data entry skills, with professional phone etiquette. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation management systems; experience with Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or AS400 is preferred. Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics), GPS, GIS, and vehicle dispatch software is an asset.
