As a Level A Diesel Technician, you will work with industry-leading products including Freightliner, Western Star, Isuzu, Spartan, and KME Emergency Vehicles. You'll have access to advanced OEM diagnostic tools, factory training, and the support needed to diagnose and repair today's increasingly complex commercial vehicles. Duties Diagnose, document, and repair engine, transmission, aftertreatment, electrical, drivability, and chassis system faults using OEM diagnostic software and company-supplied laptops. Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and reconditioning on heavy-duty commercial vehicles and equipment. Accurately complete repair documentation and follow all OEM warranty and dealership procedures. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential issues and maximize vehicle reliability. Utilize strong technical and problem-solving skills to efficiently identify root causes and complete repairs. Participate in OEM, Freightliner, and dealership training programs both online and in person to maintain current technical knowledge. Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and actively participate in the DTNA Elite Support Program. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced technicians when appropriate. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel technician, fleet mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or equivalent heavy-duty repair role. Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems. Experience using OEM diagnostic software, electronic troubleshooting tools, and modern diesel engine technology. Strong understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, aftertreatment systems, driveline components, and chassis systems. Formal diesel training, OEM certifications, or manufacturer-specific training preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with co-workers, drivers, and management. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently with minimal supervision.
