Established and growing, Silver Streak, a trucking company, is looking for experienced dump truck and trailer drivers. Job Description: Based from our truck yard in Maple Valley, drivers haul dirt and aggregates throughout King, Pierce and Snohomish County to and from construction sites, pits and dump sites as well as between facilities. Our fleet includes solo/truck & trailer, side dumps, and super solos. *Operate dump trucks, 8 axle tractor-trailer combinations to transport and deliver (dump and/or spread) and maneuvering into loading and unloading positions safely in rural, suburban and urban environments in a safe and professional manner, following the rules of the road *Communicate with dispatcher, loaders, scale staff, site leads and coworkers professionally and efficiently *Inspect loads, couple/decouple trailers, connect/disconnect air and electrical lines, manipulate wheel locks *Keep vehicle clean and perform basic maintenance (eg fluids); complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; complete inspection reports to communicate maintenance/repair needs to shop, and incident reports *Maintain written work logs and collect tickets/signatures to submit at end of work; report information related to events or issues throughout the workday promptly *Other duties as assigned Requirements: *Available to work every weekday and overtime including Saturdays as needed — we’re busy! *Current Class A CDL and DOT Medical Certification *Able to operate both manual and automatic transmissions *3 Years’ dump truck experience with clean, insurable driving record is required *Drug free & able to pass DOT required drug testing *Ability to assess vehicle’s workability and functionality and ability to keep it clean *Able to lift 60 pounds *Able to transverse uneven ground *Able to shovel/scrape truck boxes up to 15 minutes or more *Able to climb in and out of truck boxes and cabs *Able to read, write and speak English *Able to effectively communicate verbally with pit and site crews and over the company radio *Available to work every weekday and overtime including Saturdays as needed — we’re busy! *Knowledge of local area and gravel pits a plus *TWIC card not required but is a plus Training period is to learn Silver Streak's methods, routes and expectations. **3 years' experience driving a dump truck is required.** Benefits: -Weekly pay, wages competitive and based on experience with minimum 3 years experience. -Our 90 day probationary period includes company-specific training and oversight to provide a solid foundation in safely operating our vehicles to a high standard -You get to work with a top-notch, tightly knit team, ready to share their wealth of knowledge and experience and learn from yours -Excellent pay and benefits: Full time; weekly pay $36-45 / hr with 3 years’ experience, DOE, overtime eligible; medical / dental / vision / life after 60 days; vacation, paid holidays and 4% 401k match and vacation after 1 year. -Many of our projects are prevailing wage and assigned based on project needs rather than seniority with the company.
