COMPANY OVERVIEW TEKFAB is a custom machinery manufacturer serving the metal-forming industry. Established in 2001, TEKFAB develops roll-forming technologies and equipment solutions for customers across construction, transportation, energy, and other industries. POSITION SUMMARY The Expeditor is responsible for coordinating the timely and organized movement of received parts, materials, and assemblies through TEKFAB’s custom machinery manufacturing operations. This position proactively prepares assembly packets, stages and tracks materials by job and assembly, monitors shortages and production priorities, and works closely with Assembly, Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, and Operations to ensure parts are available when needed. The Expeditor maintains accurate inventory and material movement information in the ERP system and communicates delays or bottlenecks that may affect production. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Sort, label, and stage parts using BOMs, MMLs, pick lists, and applicable assembly documentation. · Organize incoming receiving and stage assemblies and preassemblies for machine builders based on production priorities. · Monitor the progress of active machine-build projects, work orders, and job travelers throughout the shop. · Review production schedules to identify jobs, components, and assemblies that require immediate attention. · Identify work orders that are behind schedule or at risk of delaying a machine build. · Escalate delays and production constraints to the appropriate manager before they affect project milestones. · Work with the Assembly department daily to identify upcoming material needs, missing parts, and staging priorities. · Prepare daily or weekly updates showing completed assemblies, staged material, shortages, and items ready for assembly. · Monitor parts and material availability against production schedules and communicate missing, late, or urgent items. · Follow up with Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, vendors, and internal departments as directed to help expedite needed parts. · Coordinate the timely movement of parts between receiving, inventory, fabrication, assembly, and other plant areas. · Enter or update applicable inventory and material movement transactions accurately in TEKFAB’s ERP system. · Maintain clearly labeled and organized inventory and staging locations to reduce delays and misallocation of parts. · Help identify and resolve discrepancies between physical materials and ERP, BOM, MML, or assembly records. · Communicate production bottlenecks, material constraints, and at-risk assembly needs to the Plant Manager and appropriate team members. · Support inventory counts and improvements to staging, expediting, and material flow processes. · Operate authorized forklifts or material-handling equipment as needed and follow safety procedures. · Move completed assemblies and preassemblies to designated building or production staging areas. · Perform other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · High school diploma or equivalent. · Experience in production support, expediting, material handling, inventory, or a manufacturing environment. · Ability to organize parts by project, assembly, BOM, MML, and pick list. · Ability to learn and accurately use ERP inventory and material movement processes. · Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and ability to reprioritize based on production needs. · Ability to work safely in manufacturing areas and use authorized material-handling equipment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Experience as an expeditor, material coordinator, inventory specialist, or production planner in custom manufacturing. · Experience staging assemblies and preassemblies for machinery production. · Familiarity with rollforming machin…
