NextGen UpfittersEVT Operations Manager Overview NextGen Upfitters is seeking a highly skilled EVT Operations Manager to lead our emergency vehicle upfit programs from requirements and build planning through installation, acceptance, and ongoing support. This role is pivotal in managing daily production activities, ensuring technical quality, overseeing technicians and vendors, and maintaining schedules and cost controls. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customer handoffs for public safety and other fleet customers, utilizing NextGen’s fleet lifecycle platform, FleetBuild, to connect planning, build, and procurement processes. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering high-quality emergency vehicle solutions. Responsibilities Lead daily operations of emergency vehicle upfit projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion of all phases from planning to delivery Manage and supervise technicians and vendors to uphold technical quality standards and safety protocols Oversee project scheduling to meet customer deadlines while optimizing resource allocation Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality Utilize FleetBuild platform to coordinate planning, build, procurement, and project tracking seamlessly Control project costs through effective budget management and resource planning Facilitate customer handoffs by ensuring all requirements are met and clients are satisfied with the final product Lead team development through coaching, training, and performance management Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve overall project outcomes Experience ordering and maintaining inventory for upfits Qualifications Proven experience in leading emergency vehicle upfit programs or similar fleet modification projects Strong team leadership skills with the ability to manage technicians, vendors, and project stakeholders effectively Expertise in process improvement methodologies and project scheduling tools Familiarity with fleet lifecycle management platforms such as FleetBuild or equivalent systems Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and external partners Detail-oriented with a focus on technical quality and safety standards Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of organization and efficiency This position offers a challenging opportunity for professionals committed to operational excellence within the emergency vehicle upfitting industry.
