Job Summary The Event Programming & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the speaker, content and marketing strategy for ASCM’s event portfolio. This role serves as the primary marketing and speaker-programming lead for assigned events, partnering cross-functionally to build compelling event experiences, recruit and manage speakers, and drive attendee engagement and registration. The Manager will oversee speaker recruitment and management from identification through event delivery, including Call for Presentations, direct invitations, speaker communications, content collection and program development. In partnership with the broader marketing team, this role will also develop and execute integrated event marketing campaigns across email, digital, web, social and other channels. This position requires a strong combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is an organized project manager and strong communicator who can manage multiple events and competing priorities while using data, audience insights and industry trends to continuously improve event content and marketing performance. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Event Content & Speaker Management Lead speaker strategy and recruitment for assigned ASCM events, including identifying prospective speakers and subject matter experts, managing Call for Presentations and direct invitations, and cultivating relationships with speakers and contributors. Manage speakers throughout the event lifecycle, including outreach, selection, communications, timelines, presentation materials, bios, descriptions, photos and other program information. Partner with program committee, business stakeholders and professional conference organizers to develop compelling, relevant event content aligned with audience needs and ASCM’s body of knowledge. Maintain speaker, session and program information in event platforms. Stay informed on supply chain trends, emerging topics and industry leaders to inform event programming and identify potential speakers and subject matter experts. Coordinate with sponsors and exhibitors to collect required speaker, session and branding materials and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. Event Marketing Strategy & Execution Develop and execute integrated marketing plans for assigned events, serving as the primary marketing point of contact for event-related initiatives. Develop event positioning, messaging, campaign briefs and marketing copy in partnership with internal stakeholders and the broader marketing team. Partner with digital marketing to execute email, paid digital and other demand-generation efforts, including audience targeting, messaging, copy and creative development. Partner with creative and web teams to develop and deliver event collateral, landing pages, promotional materials and other marketing assets; provide creative direction and review final deliverables. Support attendee communications and engagement throughout the event lifecycle, including event apps, pre-event communications and on-site communications as appropriate. Ensure event marketing and content are aligned with ASCM brand standards, audience needs and overall business objectives. Cross-Functional Event Management Serve as a key liaison between Events, Marketing, Content & Programs, business channels and external partners to ensure alignment and effective execution of event initiatives. Manage multiple events and projects simultaneously, establishing timelines, coordinating deliverables and proactively identifying and resolving issues. Attend and provide on-site speaker support at major events as needed Performance & Optimization Monitor event marketing performance, registration and other relevant metrics; develop reports and provide recommendations to improve campaign performance and achieve event goals.
