Job Posting: Construction Estimator / Purchasing Coordinator Location: Lakeland, Florida Position Type: Full-Time, In-Office Experience Required: 5–10+ Years in Construction About the Position We are a growing construction management company seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Estimator/ Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Lakeland, FL. This hands-on role is for someone who understands residential construction from the ground up, knows how homes are built, and can accurately estimate, coordinate, and purchase the materials needed to complete each project. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with residential siding and stucco, is proficient in STACK Estimating software, and understands not just what materials are needed, but how they are installed and used in the field. This position is best suited for a self-starter who takes ownership of their work, stays organized, solves problems independently, and requires little to no supervision. As a growing small company, we need someone who is dependable, proactive, and ready to help us operate efficiently as we continue to grow. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate construction estimates and material takeoffs using STACK Estimating software. Estimate materials, quantities, labor requirements, and associated costs for residential construction projects. Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine the correct materials and quantities needed. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of residential Hardie board/fiber cement siding, LP SmartSide/engineered wood siding, stucco systems, and their installation requirements. Understand how building materials are applied, installed, and integrated into the home, including the related components and accessories required for a complete installation. Coordinate purchasing and ordering of materials based on project schedules, estimated quantities, and job requirements. Obtain and compare supplier pricing, verify material availability, and help maintain cost-effective purchasing practices. Communicate with suppliers, project managers, field personnel, and other team members to ensure materials are ordered correctly and delivered on time. Track orders, monitor deliveries, identify shortages or discrepancies, and resolve purchasing issues as they arise. Review job requirements and coordinate with the team to minimize material waste, delays, and unnecessary costs. Visit job sites as needed to verify field conditions, review material requirements, and help resolve estimating or purchasing questions. Maintain organized records of estimates, purchase orders, pricing, and project documentation. Required Qualifications — Must Have 5–10+ years of construction industry experience , preferably in residential construction, siding, stucco, exterior remodeling, or related trades. Hands-on estimating experience with residential Hardie/fiber cement siding and LP/engineered wood siding. Direct experience with residential stucco systems , including an understanding of materials, accessories, quantities, and installation methods. Proven experience using STACK Estimating software. This is a required qualification, not a position where basic computer skills alone will suffice. Strong knowledge of residential home construction and the sequence of work involved in building a house. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, elevations, specifications, and project details. A practical understanding of which materials are required for each application, how they are installed, and what additional components are necessary to complete the job properly. Experience preparing accurate material takeoffs, estimating quantities, and coordinating material purchases. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
