Responsibilities include take-offs, facilitating subcontract pricing, material pricing, attending pre and post bid meetings as well as in-house pre-construction for start-up of projects. REQUIREMENTS Prior construction industry estimation experiences a must. (3 Year minimum, 5+ years preferred.) Must have prior experience reading blueprints, working with design specs, unions and safety requirements. Manages all aspects of the estimating process Discuss and establish bid strategies, concerns and advantages Ensures bids are accurate. Fills out bid leveling sheets accurately, spending time to speak directly with each subcontractor bidder. Estimates quantities of material to purchase Review proposal specifications and drawings. Estimate all production costs according to specifications (raw materials, labor, equipment, tools and transportation) Maintains and improves relationships with clients and subcontractors. Previous verifiable experience in estimating commercial construction projects. Experience with multifamily a plus. Experience should include all areas of Construction Estimating including Civil, Architectural, Mechanical and Structural Requires complete understanding of all aspects of project construction in a number of areas Must be computer literate. Microsoft office package, Autodesk experience a plus. VU360 takeoff software experience a plus. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Ability to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects Create detailed proposals for private clients, including lump sum, CM and design build. Experience with design build work is a plus. Work with PM to develop budget reports and buy out jobs, including negotiating subcontracts and creating contracts and purchase orders. Collect & evaluate subcontractor schedule of values Working knowledge of project scheduling; CPM (Critical Path Method) Scheduling experience a BIG plus.
