As an Escort Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for guiding and protecting freight, equipment, and personnel during transit, adhering to all safety protocols and traffic regulations. Your expertise in commercial vehicle operation and navigation will help us deliver exceptional service while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate escort vehicles such as pickup trucks, vans, or specialized escort trucks along over-the-road routes, ensuring smooth convoy movement. Use GPS navigation systems and fleet tracking tools to map out and follow designated routes accurately and efficiently. Communicate effectively with drivers and other team members via mobile devices to coordinate movements and relay important updates. Monitor traffic conditions and weather reports to adapt driving strategies in adverse conditions, maintaining safety at all times. Conduct routine inspections of escort vehicles to ensure mechanical readiness and compliance with safety protocols. Skills Proficiency in GPS navigation and fleet GPS tracking systems for route planning and real-time monitoring. Experience driving commercially Knowledge of over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, heavy haul procedures, and freight transportation regulations. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and providing excellent customer service during deliveries or escorts. Capacity to drive in adverse weather conditions while maintaining safety standards; experience with shuttle driving or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
