Reporting to the Supervisor(s) of Operations (Roads/Traffic), and under the direction of the Working Foreperson(s), the Equipment Operator Grade I (Truck Driver) is responsible for: operating and maintaining vehicles over 11,000 kg., G.V.W., including single and tandem axle vehicles, and accessory equipment; loading, hauling and unloading of various materials and supplies; involvement in winter snow operations, including snow removal, sanding/salting and ploughing of roads and sidewalks; involvement in summer road work, including sweeping, shouldering, patching, repairing washouts, maintenance, resurfacing and ditching; ensuring all equipment and/or tools are operated in a safe and professional manner; providing excellent customer service, including responding to inquiries/concerns from the general public and other members of staff in a courteous manner; and, other duties as assigned.
