Equipment Operator/Class 1 Driver

Full job description The Opportunity Simon Bos Nurseries Ltd. is growing its team and looking for a motivated and experienced equipment operator preferably with their class 1 drivers’ license and experience. The ideal candidate would already have their license and years of driving. However, equipment operators willing to achieve their class 1 drivers license with our team’s support are welcome to apply. About the Company Simon Bos Nurseries (SBN) is an agriculture/horticulture company that operates around the rural area of Coaldale and Lethbridge. Our primary crop focus is conifer and deciduous tree production along with many others. We are focused on building a team that enjoys the daily work required to be profitable and efficient while fostering safe, enjoyable and satisfying work. We are family owned and operated and value each team member for the contribution of skills and time they dedicate to the workplace. SBN has a peak season of 8 months in the year where most of the work hours and tasks are completed. Depending on the skills and assets you currently have in a mechanical shop setting, year-round work is available. Ongoing training and learning are available for the right candidate. SBN is not looking to fill a position but rather foster a long-term career. Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to): Operating various tractors, skid steers and excavators Deliveries of trees and products Performing general equipment maintenance Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery using hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical knowledge Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling using various construction equipment. Perform general labor tasks Manage irrigation systems to optimize water distribution for crops Skills: Team focused, hard working, and detail oriented. Mechanical and welding skills would be an asset to the off-season months but not required Clean and safe work habits Ability to work within a team Education and Experience Requirements: Experience operating a wide range of machinery Current Class 5 license with clean drivers abstract Willingness to achieve class 1 drivers license (preferably already have) Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week Benefits: Dental care Disability insurance Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Vision care Work Location: In person
