ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include performing soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling using a variety of methods; collecting and documenting field data; maintaining accurate records; monitoring and coordinating subcontractors; and assisting with the operation, maintenance, and general upkeep of environmental remediation equipment. Additional responsibilities may include asbestos sampling, soil resistivity testing, and borehole logging. This position requires self-motivation, dedication, strict adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team under the daily direction of project management. Previous experience is considered an asset but is not required. The position will involve travel throughout Central Florida and the Tampa Bay area . Long-term out-of-town assignments are not a routine part of this position. The selected candidate will have opportunities to learn and work with other departments and gain exposure to a variety of environmental and engineering-related services. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus. A company vehicle is provided for work-related activities. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Post-secondary education in science or a related field is a plus, but not required Good computer skills 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail Ability to walk on slopes and uneven terrain Ability to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 lbs. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and/or extended hours when required Ability to travel and work at remote project sites as needed Excellent driving record that meets company standards Must be able to successfully complete required background screening, including criminal history, motor vehicle record, and drug screening Local candidates preferred; no relocation assistance is available Compensation The annual salary range for this position will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
