This position plays a critical role in developing and maintaining world-class safety, environmental, and training programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. General Responsibilites Safety, Environmental Compliance & Risk Management Develop, implement, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations. Lead safety and environmental audits, inspections, risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations while driving corrective actions to completion. Serve as the facility subject matter expert for EHS compliance, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Manage workers' compensation programs, injury case management, return-to-work initiatives, and reporting requirements for both Mocksville locations and field offices. Oversee personal protective equipment (PPE), hazardous materials management, fire protection systems, emergency preparedness, and asset protection initiatives. Partner with facility leadership to proactively identify operational, safety, and environmental risks and implement preventive solutions. Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive continuous improvement. Foster a culture of accountability, hazard awareness, environmental responsibility, and employee ownership of EHS performance. Environmental & Sustainability Lead and maintain the facility's ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Ensure compliance with all environmental permits, regulations, reporting requirements, and corporate sustainability objectives. Manage environmental audits, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance documentation. Oversee waste management, recycling programs, stormwater management, air emissions compliance, and hazardous waste activities as applicable. Drive initiatives focused on waste reduction, energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental stewardship. Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies and external auditors. Promote environmental awareness and accountability throughout the organization. Continuous Improvement & Operational Support Support operational excellence initiatives through GEMBA activities, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects. Provide EHS leadership and guidance for capital projects, equipment installations, facility modifications, and process changes. Ensure new and modified equipment meets all applicable safety and environmental requirements before implementation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety performance, environmental compliance, productivity, and employee engagement. Analyze trends and performance data to develop strategic improvement plans and measurable outcomes. Support the implementation of corporate EHS standards and best practices across the organization. Leadership & Culture Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization through trust, respect, and effective communication.
