Entry Level Transportation Urban Planner

We are excited to invite an entry-level Transportation Planner to join our dynamic team in Newport Beach. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering (Transportation), or a closely related analytical/technical field and have a passion for developing sustainable and efficient transportation systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world projects and contribute to the enhancement of our community's transportation infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Assist in preparing comprehensive traffic impact studies, engineering and traffic surveys, VMT studies, parking and trip generation studies, and queuing analyses Conduct data collection and analysis to support technical reports and recommendations Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) Work independently on assigned tasks while maintaining strong collaboration with the team Assist in preparing technical reports, graphics, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Exhibit passion for transportation and inspire others with your enthusiasm and drive Evaluate and design multi-modal, active transportation, complete streets, and intelligent transportation systems. Utilize cutting edge data analytics and modeling tools for performance-based planning Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering (Transportation) or a closely related analytical/technical field preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret and analyze data. Basic knowledge of transportation planning concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn new software tools. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail in technical documentation.
