Entry Level Production Material Planner
ITR AmericaPosition Summary: The planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of production and painting builds on specified production lines, utilizing such factors as customer orders, take time, setup time and master production plan. Essential Functions: Review and maintain the master production schedule for a given production line and associated EDI generated schedule. Maintaining EDI daily orders, Schedule loads out. Planning of painting and assembled products. MRM (Material Requirements Move – Move ins / outs – Missed orders) Monitors optimum inventory levels for all purchased parts and recommends inventory levels to maintain adequate flow to support customer requirements. Consult with the Warehouse Supervisor and Operation Supervisor for weekly set up and adjustment of the product build schedule. Assist in problem solving efforts regarding customer emergencies or failure to meet customer needs. Maintain pull list for assigned production line. Communicate status of work orders to purchasing production and Shipping/Receiving teams. Ensure production plan start/completion is executed on time per internal scheduled ship dates. Plan, release, schedule, and track manufacturing kit orders from inception at order entry through to completion of production for your assigned product family by using our ERP system, Customer(s) Web Portal(s) and our scheduling system (Access and Schedule). Review material requirements planning (MRP), process all MRP messages, and maintain the integrity of our ERP system for your assigned product family by ensuring parts lists, dates, work order statuses, routings, and quantities are all up to date and correct. Review capacity, account for any potential compression or constraints and make production plans to deliver finished goods on time for our customers. Collaborate to resolve any potential issues and estimated completion dates to our cross-functional partners in Quality, Production, Customer Service, and Warehousing. Inform Purchasing when shortage of components is reported. Create requisition Purchase Orders for primary components, or secondary packaging as required to fulfill customer orders in accordance with MRP requirements. Manage production orders to minimize inventory excess and obsolescence. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) Experience or familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) High school degree required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 1 – 4 years or relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of department flow procedures and overall cycle routine. Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, with good knowledge of Excel, MPS, MRP and inventory systems. Must have strong organizational skills. Good verbal and written communication skills Time Management and the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to identify and eliminate potential problem areas with an “out of the box” approach.
