This role will be responsible for data architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud data solutions, data quality, governance, security, and performance optimization . You will partner with Engineering, DevOps, Business, Analytics, and Data Science teams to turn complex data into reliable, accessible information that supports reporting, business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. This is a hands-on technical leadership position with the opportunity to establish data architecture standards, solve complex technical challenges, improve data capabilities, and mentor members of the data team. Key Responsibilities Data Architecture & Data Warehouse Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, high-performance enterprise data warehouse. Define data architecture standards, principles, and best practices. Develop modern, maintainable, resilient, and cost-effective data solutions. Evaluate existing data infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement. Design data solutions that support reporting, BI, analytics, and data science. Data Modeling Design and implement dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas . Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Ensure models align with business requirements and support self-service analytics. Perform data cleansing, normalization, transformation, and other data preparation activities. ETL/ELT & Data Pipelines Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines. Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources. Develop scalable pipelines supporting batch and real-time workloads. Implement incremental data processing strategies. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, schema changes, and data integrity issues. Data Governance, Quality & Security Establish data governance practices, including data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management. Implement data validation, anomaly detection, and quality monitoring. Support data security through role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and appropriate compliance controls . Partner with security and technical teams to protect sensitive data. Cloud Data Architecture Design and implement cloud-based data warehouse solutions. Work with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud technologies. Support cloud data integration, storage, processing, and monitoring. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, or OneLake is preferred. Performance & Optimization Optimize database and warehouse performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and caching. Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues. Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and relationships. Design solutions that balance performance, scalability, reliability, and cost. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with business stakeholders and analysts to translate requirements into scalable data solutions. Work closely with Software Engineering and DevOps teams. Communicate technical concepts, project status, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization. Leadership & Mentoring Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data team members. Establish and document standards for data warehouse development and governance. Promote best practices across data engineering and architecture. Stay current with emerging data engineering, cloud, analytics, and AI technologies.
