– Material Flow Factory
Purpose: Support Material Flow team with day-to-day inventory control responsibilities providing quick resolution to inventory issues, long-term sustainment of critical processes and alignment within our Integrated Supply Chain team.
1. Define major performance objectives/goals and supporting actions/tasks for each objective:
• Become the subject matter expert for Inventory Control
• Assist in managing SOP within our Inventory tasks
• Train areas on best practices
• Understand gaps in Inventory processes and opportunities/risks
• New material implementation and communication
• Problem Solving and Resolution
• Collaborate with production areas on positive inventory issues to resolve
• Investigate, mitigate, and resolve material outages
• Investigate and track negative inventory constraints and re-occurrence
• Continuous Improvement Projects
• Develop, update, and improve material storage/management throughout the facility
• Assist Engineers in identifying and resolving production area material delivery issues
• Identify obsolete material for potential disposal/review
2. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Perform critical inventory audits in each zone of the Material Flow team
• Investigate inventory discrepancies via Negative Inventory Tracker and Oracle through resolution
• Complete, lead Cycle Count process throughout Material Flow
• Update Material Flow Catalog as needed
• Assist Material Flow team with daily tasks as needed
3. Team Structure:
• Effectively work alongside Working Zone Leaders, Group Leaders, production teams, and accounting
• Report to Factory Manager
4. Improvement Opportunities: (Existing challenges likely to be encountered by the member)
• Continuous review of current Inventory controls and opportunities for improvements.
• Understanding of material lead times and effects related to inventory storage
• Improve consistency of inventory tasks throughout facility (cycle count, scrap, misc. adj.)
• Strategy in place may continue to shape the responsibilities and tasks of this role throughout the year.
