Emergency Medical Service Dispatcher
PRIORITY ONE EMSPriority One Emergency Medical Services is currently hiring experienced Emergency Medical Services Dispatchers. Candidates must have previous Emergency Medical Service Dispatch experience, possess exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, sound knowledge of emergency medical services protocol, ability to multi-task in a fast-pasted environment. Candidates must possess working knowledge of computer technology, organizational skills, ability to follow company policy and procedural protocols, HIPAA Compliance and comply with all regulations relative to EMS care delivery for efficient dispatch, time management, crew management and appropriate assignment of emergency and non-emergency ALS or BLS crews. Shifts will include afternoon, overnight and weekends. Part-time positions. Wage information and Training requirements will be discussed during interview. Priority One EMS is a high volume, local and long distance emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in the Eastern Suburbs of Pittsburgh. Priority One EMS provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services to four [local] boroughs and holds County, State and Federal contracts for ambulance services. Responsibilities Respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls and determine priority, when applicable, providing accurate information and instruction per established EMS dispatch protocols. Coordinate scheduled non-emergency ALS and BLS transport requests, utilize multi-line radio and phone communications, assign appropriate units, monitor status using dispatch software, crew communication devices and CAD. Maintain calm, professional interactions at all times. Document call details accurately, perform data entry, obtain required information/documentation for non-emergencies and ensure compliance with all privacy and legal requirements. Summary As an EMS Dispatcher, you will coordinate urgent medical responses and support emergency and non-emergency call-taking operations. You will utilize core skills in emergency communication, EMS care delivery and medical terminology to assess incidents, triage calls, and dispatch appropriate EMS resources as necessary. The EMS Dispatcher will assist EMS personnel to ensure timely, accurate, and compassionate emergency and non-emergency care. Ability to Commute: Braddock, PA 15104 (Required) Work Location: In person
