Emergency Management Logistics Coordinator
Marion County Sheriff's OfficeDescription Responsibilities include maintaining the emergency management training and exercise programs, resource and inventory management, community outreach and planning activities. The Emergency Management Logistics Coordinator position requires a motivated individual with independent judgment and forward-thinking abilities when dealing with a variety of situations that may include working with the public. This position requires a readiness to assist operations during a disaster and being a component of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during activation. This position requires an individual who is self-initiated and motivated. This position also involves public contact and participation in various community events. Examples of Duties Duties: A. Abide by the "Law Enforcement Code of Ethics." B. Maintain and regularly test, emergency management resources and equipment to ensure 24/7 operability. C. Develop, maintain, and coordinate a comprehensive resource management program that involves the identification of resource requirements through conducting a regular gap analysis. D. Manage and maintain organization and inventory of the Emergency Management warehouse. E. Support the Logistics Section during emergency operations center activations. F. Assist in ensuring the emergency operations center and back-up emergency operations center are always fully operational to support all emergency service functions to include but not limited to computers, audio visual, telephones, radio equipment and associated software. G. Coordinate, conduct, and instruct training exercises and classes in various subject matters that may include: CPR, First Aid, ICS, WebEOC, EOC operations, etc. H. Develop and implement Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant exercises; provide input and participate in external agency exercises; develop and supports exercise after action reports. I. Set up, hook up, transport, position trailers and specialized equipment, including generators, ensuring safe and efficient relocation in compliance with operational and safety protocols. J. Observe, report, and whenever feasible, follow up on conditions which pose potential threats to public safety and health, to include fires. K. Perform the bi-annual Hazardous Materials Hazardous Analysis of EPCRA SARA Title III Section 302 chemical sites located throughout the County in accordance with the Inter-local Agreement. L. Assist in developing, revising, implementing, maintaining internal and external comprehensive disaster plans, checklists, and programs addressing all-hazards within all phases of emergency management. M. Participate in the preparation and delivery of educational and public information programs. N. Attend conferences, meetings, and continuing education training, as necessary. O. Remain available for on-call duties that are assigned on a rotating basis. P. Perform other related duties, as assigned, including modified schedule or temporary re assignment during declared emergency or activations, as determined by the Sheriff. Typical Qualifications JOB PREREQUISITES: A. Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, Class D or higher and acceptable driving record. B. The employee must live within 60 minutes of the emergency operations center to respond to after-hour calls and activation of the emergency operations center. C. Certificate of completion for: ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800 D. Become a qualified forklift operator. E. Become a certified Heart Saver AED First Aid Instructor by an agency-approved provider. F. Become certified as an Incident Command System/National Incident Management System Instructor. G. Complete the Basic Emergency Management Professional Series. H. Have a basic working knowledge and implementation of Geographic Information System Mapping (GIS). I.
