Job Overview Tilton Electric is seeking an organized, proactive professional to prepare awarded projects for a smooth field start. This position coordinates the paperwork, approvals, materials, schedules, and logistics required before mobilization. The role also supports purchasing when workload permits; approved site-visit mileage is reimbursed because no company vehicle is provided. Responsibilities Project setup: Review plans, specifications, addenda, and contract requirements; establish folders, checklists, and deadlines. Schedule of Values: Prepare the initial SOV and coordinate revisions requested by the GC or owner. Project scheduling: Build the initial electrical schedule and align procurement milestones and required-on-site dates with the GC. Submittals: Create and maintain the register; prepare, submit, track, revise, and distribute approved electrical submittals. Procurement: Update vendor pricing, compare quotes to the estimate, verify quantities and specifications, and prepare purchase orders. Long-lead equipment: Track switchgear, generators, ATSs, lighting, transformers, panels, and fire alarm equipment; flag schedule risks. Material coordination: Schedule deliveries and storage, maintain material logs, and confirm major equipment is ready for field startup. Project meetings: Attend preconstruction and coordination meetings via Teams/Zoom; document action items and follow through. RFIs & scope review: Assist with RFIs and identify drawing conflicts, scope gaps, and potential changes before construction. Permits & administration: Coordinate permits, bonds, insurance, prevailing-wage documentation, schedules, and startup requirements. Budget tracking: Compare committed purchase costs with the estimate and communicate savings, overruns, and risks to the PM. Field handoff: Deliver approved submittals, POs, delivery dates, schedules, open RFIs, vendor contacts, scope notes, and known risks. Skills VALID JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN license and 3 years of experience Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, system design, and electrical building codes including NEC standards Experience with public works projects, SOV Schedule of Values, submittals, procurement, and long lead equipment such as generators, ATS, transformers and panels Proficiency with project management tools, including Google & Microsoft, McCormick experience is a plus Strong understanding of construction scheduling techniques and construction drawing review processes Ability to manage large-scale electrical projects from inception through completion while maintaining quality standards Excellent communication skills for effective project coordination among diverse teams and stakeholders Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing teams on-site and overseeing subcontractors Familiarity with permitting procedures and NFPA 70 compliance requirements during the construction process Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical systems on-site Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects Join us if you're eager to elevate your career by blending technical expertise with project leadership!
