This position is ideal for an electrical construction professional who can confidently manage projects from the initial estimate through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates, developing project budgets and schedules, coordinating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and field teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Estimating Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents. Prepare detailed estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and/or residential electrical projects. Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical materials, equipment, labour, and subcontracted work. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing. Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential scope gaps. Prepare competitive bids and proposals in accordance with project requirements and deadlines. Review project plans and specifications to identify value-engineering opportunities. Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings. Project Management Manage electrical projects from award through completion and closeout. Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and procurement plans. Coordinate with customers, general contractors, engineers, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Monitor project costs, labour, material usage, and overall profitability. Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, change orders, and project documentation. Identify and manage project changes, extras, deficiencies, and claims. Prepare and submit change orders and progress billings. Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders. Attend site meetings and conduct regular site visits as required. Work closely with forepersons and field crews to resolve technical and scheduling issues. Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and company standards. Assist with project closeout, including deficiencies, as-builts, warranties, and turnover documentation. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, project management, or a combination of both. Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and construction practices. Experience with electrical estimating and/or project management software. Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and scheduling. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Preferred Qualifications Electrical trade certification or electrical engineering/technologist background. Experience working for an electrical contractor. Experience estimating commercial, industrial, institutional, or multi-residential projects. Experience with construction management software such as Bluebeam Previous experience managing projects from estimating through closeout.
