Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Edmonton Base Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Edmonton facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for people, production, scheduling, safety, quality, inventory, and overall facility performance. The successful candidate will be expected to stay close to the shop floor, solve problems quickly, improve processes, and ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day shop and production activities. Set priorities, manage schedules, and ensure jobs move through the facility efficiently. Lead, coach, and hold employees accountable for performance, safety, quality, and productivity. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, staffing issues, material shortages, and workflow problems. Improve shop organization, job planning, material flow, and overall efficiency. Ensure proper use of ERP systems, work orders, job travellers, inventory, and production records. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Field Service. Ensure equipment is manufactured, repaired, tested, and documented to required standards. Maintain a strong safety culture and organized work environment. Monitor job costs, labour utilization, spending, margins, and overall base performance. Support customers and internal teams to ensure commitments and delivery dates are achieved. Drive continuous improvement and practical lean manufacturing initiatives. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on operations leader who is comfortable managing people, solving problems, and taking ownership of results. They should understand manufacturing or equipment repair environments and be able to quickly identify what is preventing work from moving forward and take action to resolve it. Qualifications 5+ years of operations, manufacturing, or industrial service experience. 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. Experience in oil and gas equipment, valves, wellheads, pressure equipment, machining, fabrication, or repair is an asset. Engineering, business, manufacturing, or mechanical trade background preferred. Strong production planning, scheduling, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ERP systems, inventory management, and job costing. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Strong understanding of safety and quality systems.
