Insight EditionsEDITORIAL ASSISTANT/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT Insight Editions seeks an Editorial Assistant/Production Assistant to provide support to the London-based Insight Workshop team. Our fan-focused publishing /product development programme includes titles from many of the world’s largest pop-culture brands, from Harry Potter to Disney. The role is a great opportunity for an organised candidate to learn the editorial and production process for a global publishing/gift company. The assistant will report to IW management team, working closely with editorial and buying team members within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position and a hybrid role, with 2-3 days a week in our central London office. Experience of licensed publishing would be an advantage. Key Responsibilities: Assist the IW management team on all aspects of acquisitions and project management including research, concept development, creation of pitch materials and sales copy, writing title outlines, rights & clearance tracking, licensor approval submissions and tracking, updating title information in internal and publisher distribution portals. Assist the IW management team on all aspects of Buying. Compiling product specifications, sending briefs to suppliers (and other Insight internal teams) including soliciting cross quotes/ collating information for comparison, requesting samples and keeping accurate records of progress. Working with internal Insight procurement to supply timely purchasing information and product master data as needed. Assist in the creation, gathering of information for marketing and sales collateral, including sales copy, sell sheets, catalog copy, sales decks and brochures. Interact with professionalism with authors, artists, designers, filmmakers, suppliers, licensors, agents, in-house staff in all departments of Insight Editions. Gather and sort assets for use in sales materials and book layouts, and routing sales materials to licensors and stakeholders as required. Search and analyze competitive market research and compile reports. Assist with ongoing database management projects. Take accurate notes in meetings and distribute to teams. Track project development costs, process invoices for approval. Assist in the preparation of product materials for trade shows when relevant. Perform general administrative duties, such as managing ongoing meetings, emailing updates, tracking approvals with licensors. Qualifications: BA in English or related field. 1 to 2 years editorial or buying experience a plus, preferably within a publishing or gift product environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A passion for books and writing; enthusiasm for pop culture is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Teams. Experience of Adobe Creative Suite would be an advantage but is not essential. Knowledge of and interest in the film, television, and gaming industries.
