East Coast Warehouse Operations & Startup Manager Location: New Jersey, USA (Exact Location TBD) Job Type: Full-time, On-site Salary: Negotiable, Based on Experience Industry: Logistics / Warehousing / Transportation / 3PL Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated East Coast Warehouse Operations & Startup Manager to lead the establishment and ongoing management of our new warehouse operations in New Jersey. This is a key leadership position responsible for the entire warehouse startup process, including site selection, facility evaluation, warehouse setup, vendor development, team building, and daily operations management . A major focus of this position will be port drayage, container transportation, and logistics coordination involving the Port of New York and New Jersey. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the New Jersey logistics market, established relationships with local trucking and drayage providers, and hands-on experience in both warehouse operations and new facility development. Please note: Our New Jersey warehouse location has not yet been finalized. The selected candidate will play an important role in identifying and establishing the new facility. Candidates must be willing to work on-site and be flexible regarding the final warehouse location within New Jersey. Key Responsibilities1. Warehouse Site Selection & Startup Lead the search and evaluation of suitable warehouse facilities in New Jersey, focusing on proximity and accessibility to the Port of New York and New Jersey. Work with commercial real estate brokers, landlords, and property management companies to identify potential warehouse locations. Evaluate warehouse facilities based on location, square footage, rental costs, loading docks, truck access, trailer parking, ceiling height, storage capacity, and operational requirements. Conduct warehouse site visits and provide recommendations to company management. Assist with lease negotiations, facility budgeting, and warehouse selection decisions. Develop warehouse startup plans, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate warehouse preparation, including racking, forklifts, equipment, IT systems, security systems, and other operational requirements. Assist with obtaining necessary local permits, licenses, inspections, and operational approvals. Recruit and build the initial warehouse operations team. Establish warehouse workflows, SOPs, safety procedures, and operational standards before launch.
