Position Summary The E-Commerce Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day planning and operational execution of Riverbend’s direct-to-consumer business. The role owns the process from demand forecast → inventory planning → production coordination → fulfillment → shipment → delivery. The primary focus is ensuring Riverbend has the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time while minimizing out-of-stocks, excess inventory, aged inventory, fulfillment errors, and unnecessary costs. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain SKU-level demand and inventory forecasts. Translate sales forecasts, promotions, holidays, and product launches into inventory and production requirements. Establish inventory targets, safety stock, reorder points, and aging standards. Proactively identify potential shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving products. Coordinate planning across E-Commerce, Production, Warehouse, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Demand Planning. Oversee daily order flow, pick-and-pack, fulfillment, shipping, and delivery performance. Forecast packaging, dry ice, boxes, labels, and other fulfillment materials. Manage parcel carrier performance, shipping costs, transit times, and delivery issues. Ensure website inventory accurately reflects available sellable inventory. Develop scalable processes and reporting to improve forecast accuracy, inventory utilization, fulfillment efficiency, and customer experience. Key Measures of Success Forecast accuracy In-stock / out-of-stock rate Inventory turns and aging Inventory accuracy On-time and accurate shipments Fulfillment and shipping cost per order Order cycle time Damaged shipment / replacement rate Customer satisfaction Preferred, but Not Required Experience in e-commerce operations, inventory/demand planning, supply chain, fulfillment, or distribution. Strong planning, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with inventory management, forecasting, Excel, ERP, and e-commerce systems. Experience with DTC food, meat, frozen or other perishable products is beneficial. Knowledge of parcel shipping and temperature-controlled fulfillment is beneficial. Ability to work effectively across departments and manage multiple priorities. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who plans ahead, takes ownership, works well across teams, uses data to make decisions, and can help build the systems and processes needed to scale Riverbend’s e-commerce business. Other Responsibilities In addition to the core responsibilities outlined above, the E-Commerce Operations Manager may support and/or own the following as the business requires: Inventory & Planning Maintain visibility to current, committed, and projected inventory. Develop weekly, monthly, seasonal, and promotional inventory plans. Plan inventory for bundles, subscriptions, promotions, product launches, holidays, and peak periods. Develop holiday inventory builds and contingency plans. Monitor SKU velocity, inventory age, weeks of supply, and excess inventory. Develop plans to utilize slow-moving and aged inventory. Balance product availability with freshness, working capital, and warehouse capacity. Help develop bundles and promotions that improve inventory utilization and carcass balance. Sales & Operations Planning Participate in development of the e-commerce sales forecast. Convert sales forecasts into actionable operating plans. Maintain a rolling forecast for orders, cases, inventory, packaging, and fulfillment labor. Establish a regular planning cadence across E-Commerce, Production, Warehouse, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Demand Planning. Communicate material changes in demand and develop contingency plans when actual sales differ from forecast.
