DZ TRUCK DRIVER / SHOP SUPPORT

Summit Equipment Ltd. – Hamilton, Ontario Summit Equipment Ltd. is looking for a highly motivated, experienced DZ Truck Driver to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and picking up aerial lifts, forklifts, and other heavy equipment using our Kenworth T880 Roll-Off Truck equipped with a manual transmission. This is a full-time position offering 40 hours per week. When deliveries are not scheduled, the successful candidate will assist with general maintenance, equipment preparation, and other shop-related duties to maintain a consistent workweek. Requirements Valid DZ driver's licence (minimum) Minimum 3 years of professional commercial truck driving experience Must be experienced and proficient in operating a heavy-duty truck with a manual transmission Clean driving record and driver's abstract Experience operating roll-off, rollback, or heavy equipment transport trucks preferred Experience loading, securing, and unloading heavy equipment preferred Knowledge of proper load securement procedures Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform general maintenance and shop duties Highly motivated, dependable, punctual, and hardworking Strong attention to safety and equipment care Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service Responsibilities Truck Driving & Equipment Deliveries Deliver and pick up aerial lifts, forklifts, and other heavy equipment Safely operate our manual transmission Kenworth T880 Roll-Off Truck Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment safely Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain required documentation Coordinate deliveries and pickups with our sales and rental departments Represent Summit Equipment professionally when interacting with customers Shop Maintenance & Support When trucking duties are not required, the successful candidate will assist with: General shop and property maintenance Basic equipment maintenance and preparation Cleaning, washing, and organizing equipment Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the shop and yard Assisting technicians and refurbishment staff as needed General labour and other assigned maintenance-related tasks What We Offer Full-time employment – 40 hours per week Competitive compensation based on experience Modern, well-maintained equipment Variety of responsibilities between driving and shop work Stable employment with a growing company Supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunity for long-term growth The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is mechanically inclined, and understands that being part of a small, growing company means being willing to help wherever needed.
