DZ Delivery Driver (6-month contract)

The Opportunity: We are currently hiring a DZ Delivery Driver for a 6-month contract (November 2026 - April 2027) . The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of lumber, building materials, and other products to residential and contractor customers. This role plays an important part in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring products arrive safely and accurately. Duties Include: Safely operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with all transportation regulations. Deliver lumber, building materials, and other products to customer job sites and residences. Load, secure, transport, and unload products safely to prevent damage. Verify delivery orders for accuracy and obtain customer signatures upon delivery. Provide friendly, professional customer service while representing the company. Inspect vehicles before and after each shift and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle. Communicate delivery updates, delays, and customer concerns with Management. What We're Looking For: Valid DZ driver’s license (or equivalent) with a minimum three years of experience and a clean driver’s abstract is required. 0 - 8-ton mobile crane certification is an asset. Forklift certification is required. Knowledge of building materials and construction products is an asset. Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting heavy materials (weighing up to 100 lb). Strong knowledge of load securement and safe material handling practices. Read and comprehend written and printed materials, and information presented in numerical form. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Please note: Reliable transportation is essential as Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre is not on a bus route.
