Role Description The DZ & AZ Drivers role is a part-time, on-site position based in Mississauga, ON. In this role, drivers operate company trucks to transport ferrous and non-ferrous metal materials safely between customer sites, yards, and processing facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, following all traffic and safety regulations, and maintaining accurate delivery and pick-up documentation. Drivers interact with customers and yard staff, ensuring professional communication, courteous service, and efficient loading and unloading. The position may involve local and regional routes, working in various weather conditions, and collaborating closely with dispatch and operations teams to meet scheduling and service requirements. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong truck driving skills, including safe operation of commercial trucks and adherence to transportation regulations. Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A or equivalent AZ/DZ driver’s license with a clean driving record. Candidates should possess effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, dispatch, and yard personnel. Candidates should possess familiarity with truck inspections, basic vehicle maintenance checks, and proper load securement practices. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in scrap metal or industrial transport, knowledge of local and regional routes, ability to work flexible hours, and a strong focus on safety. Ability to lift and move materials as required, follow company policies and procedures, and work collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
