Dump Truck Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, and other freight efficiently and safely across various job sites. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Duties Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment while ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, ensuring timely delivery across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local job sites. Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols when required. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure trucks are in optimal condition; report any mechanical issues promptly. Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate deliveries, manage freight handling, and optimize route planning for maximum efficiency. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations and delivery driving. Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods. Skilled in manual transmission operation and manual handling techniques for cargo loading/unloading. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient route driving. Experience with freight handling on flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, or other specialized trucks such as automobile transportation units. Ability to load & unload cargo safely while adhering to logistics cargo handling procedures. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety, compliance with DOT regulations, and hazard awareness.
