Dump Truck Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport sand, dirt and debris, to various job sites and disposal locations. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and efficient route management will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our commitment to safety and service excellence. Responsibilities Operate dump trucks safely across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Load, unload, and secure freight such as construction debris, gravel, or other bulk materials using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like forklifts when necessary Navigate using GPS systems to reach delivery destinations efficiently while adhering to scheduled routes and delivery timelines Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous substances Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, including checking fluid levels, brakes, tires, lights, and safety equipment to ensure vehicle safety and compliance Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transit Assist with truck loading and unloading processes when required, ensuring proper cargo handling techniques are followed Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record suitable for heavy-duty truck operation Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles such as roll-off trucks or flatbeds Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading procedures Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments Experience with logistics cargo handling including freight management for construction materials or industrial debris Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as load & unload activities; ability to lift heavy items safely when needed Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence About this Job CDL A or CDL B License required Day shift hours: 6:45 am-4:00 pm Up to 6 Days a week Drivers are required to have the following PPE: Hard Hats, Long Sleeve Shirt, Safety Vest, Long Pants and Steel Toe Boots Job site: Cameron LNG Plant Louisiana Job site is about 52 miles from Lake Charles, LA. Drivers must have reliable transportation to commute to job site. Pick up and deliver sand, dirt, debris to pits and job sites ***NO wrecks in the last 5 years*** MUST have reliable transportation to and from job site MUST have at least 1 year dump truck driving experience. NO EXCEPTIONS MUST provide 10-panel drug screen MUST be willing to start within 2-3 days after requirements are met Per diem allowance is NOT provided for this position. Lodging is NOT provided for this position Travel is required to and from the job site.
