Dump Truck Driver

Job Overview As a Dump Truck Driver, you’ll transport materials safely and efficiently to support construction, delivery, and freight operations. You’ll inspect your vehicle, follow assigned routes, and coordinate loading and unloading at each stop. The role may involve local route driving or over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, depending on operational needs. Responsibilities Operate a dump truck and other assigned commercial trucks, including vehicles with manual transmissions, in line with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report vehicle issues and maintain accurate driving and delivery records. Use GPS navigation to follow routes, manage delivery schedules, and communicate route or site changes. Coordinate load and unload activities, including manual handling and truck loading and unloading, while securing cargo and following site safety procedures. Your impact: Safe, dependable deliveries help crews receive materials when needed and keep work moving. Qualifications Required: Valid commercial driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle, safe driving practices, and ability to perform the physical tasks of the role. Required: Knowledge of commercial truck driving, delivery driving, route driving, and applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements. Preferred: Delivery driver experience and experience with tractor-trailers, automobile transportation, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers. Preferred: Familiarity with logistics cargo handling, freight, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and hazardous materials regulations; endorsements may be required for assigned loads. Dump truck experience is an asset. Additional truck driving assignments may include other commercial vehicles as operational needs require.
