Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other construction or industrial cargo to various job sites. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to navigate diverse routes will ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Responsibilities Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or truck-mounted equipment, ensuring proper securing of hazardous or freight materials such as hazardous goods, tanker loads, flatbed cargo, or refrigerated trailers when applicable. Navigate using GPS systems to reach delivery destinations accurately and on schedule, adjusting routes as needed for traffic or weather conditions. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the tractor-trailer, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire condition, and safety equipment compliance. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Safely load freight onto trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement for safe transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on dump truck operations or similar heavy vehicle roles. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling including freight loading/unloading procedures for various types of cargo such as tanker loads or flatbed shipments. Experience navigating diverse routes using GPS navigation systems across different terrains and urban environments. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type operated. Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during loading/unloading operations.
