In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques while following proper safety procedures. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries and optimize travel efficiency. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations during transportation activities. Handle logistics cargo with precision, including securing loads properly for safe transit and managing hazardous or dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across various terrains. Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, manual transmission operation, and tractor-trailer handling. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and the transportation of hazardous or dangerous goods. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems effectively for route planning and adjustments. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazard materials regulations, and safety protocols for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with automobile transportation is a plus. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks related to freight management safely. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes to ensure proper load securement and delivery accuracy.
