Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Dump Truck Driver and take charge of transporting construction materials, debris, and other freight safely and efficiently across various job sites. This energetic role demands a dedicated professional who thrives on precision, safety, and timely deliveries. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations while contributing to the smooth flow of our projects. Your expertise in truck driving and cargo handling will directly impact our ability to meet project deadlines and uphold our commitment to excellence. Duties Operate dump trucks and tractor-trailers with manual transmission across over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight including hazardous materials, dangerous goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and refrigerated trailers using proper manual handling techniques. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely delivery while optimizing routes for efficiency on route driving assignments. Transport freight safely over long distances, maintaining compliance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking load securement, brake systems, tires, lights, and fluid levels. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, delivery records, and incident reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any route or cargo issues promptly. Experience Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on dump trucks or tractor-trailers in logistics cargo handling environments. Demonstrated knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for freight types such as hazardous materials, refrigerated goods, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the cargo transported (e.g., Hazmat endorsement). Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving. Experience in manual handling of heavy loads and operating trucks equipped with manual transmissions.
