DSP Dispatcher

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented DSP Dispatcher to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the efficient dispatching of delivery service providers (DSPs), ensuring timely and accurate delivery operations. Your expertise in transportation planning, logistics, and communication will drive seamless fleet management and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Manage real-time dispatching of DSPs using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400. Coordinate routes and schedules utilizing GIS and GPS technology to optimize delivery efficiency and adhere to DOT regulations. Maintain clear communication with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers via phone calls, internal messaging, and email to ensure smooth operations. Monitor Delivery & receiving activities, and fleet status to proactively address any delays or issues. Enter data accurately into logistics databases, track shipments, and update records related to supply chain activities. Ensure compliance with transportation planning standards, safety protocols, and DOT regulations through diligent oversight. Support analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Qualifications Proven experience in road transportation operations, dispatching, or logistics coordination. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and vehicle dispatch software. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data entry and analysis purposes. Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; capable of managing multiple calls efficiently. Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and logistics safety standards. Ability to analyze operational data to support decision-making processes effectively.
