Job Title: Dry Van & Reefer Dispatcher Company: CB Freight Department: Dispatch / Transportation Operations Employment Type: Full-Time Location: [Insert Location or Remote Details] Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience and compensation structure About CB Freight CB Freight is looking for a motivated, organized, and results-driven Dry Van & Reefer Dispatcher to coordinate freight operations, manage driver assignments, and help ensure efficient, profitable, and on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate has experience dispatching dry van and refrigerated freight, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced trucking environment. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch dry van and reefer loads to qualified CDL-A drivers. Source freight and negotiate competitive rates with brokers and freight customers. Book loads while maximizing revenue, minimizing empty miles, and maintaining efficient routes. Communicate with drivers throughout each shipment to monitor progress and delivery schedules. Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, appointment changes, and operational issues. Monitor reefer temperature requirements and ensure proper communication of temperature-sensitive freight instructions. Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointment times, and load confirmations. Maintain accurate records, rate confirmations, bills of lading, proof of delivery, and other shipping documents. Build and maintain professional relationships with brokers, shippers, and customers. Monitor load profitability, rate per mile, deadhead miles, and overall equipment utilization. Ensure dispatch operations follow applicable FMCSA/DOT requirements and company policies. Provide regular updates to management regarding load status, revenue, and operational performance. Qualifications Previous experience as a truck dispatcher, preferably in dry van and reefer operations. Understanding of the U.S. freight market, broker relationships, and load boards. Familiarity with load booking, rate negotiations, and transportation management systems. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize loads, and work under pressure. Knowledge of reefer operations, temperature requirements, and appointment scheduling. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, GPS tracking, and dispatch software. Preferred Qualifications At least 1–2 years of experience dispatching dry van and reefer freight. Established relationships with freight brokers and shippers. Experience with DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards. Knowledge of rate-per-mile calculations, market rates, and load profitability. Experience coordinating multiple trucks and managing driver schedules. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and shipment tracking tools. What We Offer Competitive compensation.
