We are seeking a Driver / Operations Yard Associate for our Austin branch who can operate safely in the field while also supporting daily yard operations. The Driver / Operations Yard Associate is responsible for safely delivering and picking up portable storage containers while also supporting yard organization, equipment preparation, inspections, and general operational tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety — driving, equipment operation, and hands-on yard responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles to deliver, relocate, and retrieve portable storage containers Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations Secure loads properly and ensure safe transport to customer locations Provide professional, customer-focused service at job sites Complete delivery paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and timely Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles Stage and prepare containers for scheduled deliveries Inspect containers for quality, cleanliness, and structural condition Assist with minor repairs and general container maintenance Operate forklifts and yard equipment safely (as certified) Maintain yard organization to support efficient dispatch and workflow Support inventory tracking and periodic yard counts Follow all company safety policies and procedures Adhere to FMCSA/DOT regulations when applicable Immediately report safety concerns, equipment issues, or incidents Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality Protect company assets including vehicles, containers, and equipment Communicate effectively with dispatch and branch leadership Contribute to branch performance through teamwork, efficiency, and proactive problem-solving Represent the company professionally in all interactions Requirments: Valid driver’s license (CDL Class A or B preferred based on position requirements) Acceptable driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening (if CDL required) At least 21 years of age (for commercial driving eligibility) Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions Strong attention to safety and detail Reliable attendance and punctuality Must be authorized to work in the United States Must successfully complete background check and drug screening Must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company insurance standards Must comply with all DOT regulations (if applicable) Must adhere to company safety policies and operational procedures Ability to work occasional overtime based on business needs Willingness to participate in ongoing safety and skills training Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times per shift Ability to safely secure loads and operate equipment Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, precipitation) Ability to maintain alertness and focus during extended driving periods Manual dexterity to complete inspections and documentation Benefits: PTO and Sick time eligibility Holidays off Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) Health Savings Account Job Type: Full-time, Onsite. *Not a Remote Position* Main Office Location: 8810 N I-35, Georgetown, TX 78626 Who We Are: Southwest Mobile Storage is a family-owned shipping container business founded in 1995.
