Driver/ Terminal Supervisor (Automotive, JIT, SPD)
Logos Logistics Inc.We are seeking an experienced CDL Driver/ Terminal Supervisor to oversee the daily transportation activities of our dedicated fleet serving automotive manufacturing customers. This is a driver-focused transportation operations role , not a warehouse position. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supervising CDL drivers, coordinating daily dispatch activities, communicating with customers, and managing time-sensitive deliveries in a fast-paced automotive environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers receive the right automotive parts, at the right place, at the right time . Because our customers operate on Just-In-Time (JIT) and sequenced production schedules, this individual must be highly organized, responsive, and comfortable making real-time decisions when transportation issues arise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Directly supervise and support a team of CDL truck drivers. Manage daily driver dispatching, routes, schedules, assignments, and coverage. Ensure Just-In-Time (JIT) and sequenced automotive parts deliveries (SPD) are completed accurately and on schedule. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customer transportation and plant personnel. Ensure drivers follow company policies, DOT regulations, customer requirements, and established operating procedures. Coach and hold drivers accountable for safety, attendance, productivity, customer service, and performance. Provide timely updates regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, equipment issues, and recovery plans. Work closely with Operations, Dispatch, Safety, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve transportation issues. Maintain a high level of customer responsiveness, particularly during time-sensitive situations. Assist with driver training, onboarding, performance evaluations, and corrective action when necessary. Ability to handle request by phone and email from customers and carriers to add, delete or modify routes. Communicate with drivers and provide instructions to ensure a successful delivery. Monitor and adjust driver schedules to cover required transportation commitments. Load information via Samsara messages and phone conversations with drivers. Responsible for transportation management software data updates. Update transportation metrics. Fulfill requests by researching, locating and providing information. Develop and implement continuous improvement solutions for transportation network. Promote a strong safety culture among drivers. Monitor compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements and company safety policies. Address unsafe driving practices, policy violations, and performance concerns. Assist with accident/incident follow-up and driver compliance issues. Ensure required driver documentation and records are maintained accurately. Job Requirements Trucking industry operation and dispatch experience of 5 yrs or more. Excellent communication skills both oral and written Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word.
